Nepal Sangam News ("we", "us") is a Nepali news aggregator. The app lists headlines from Nepali news sites and opens the publisher's own page. This policy explains what data the app handles.
What we do not collect
- No account or login.
- No in-app ads and no crash reporting SDK.
- No access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or storage.
Requests to our server
The app sends only anonymous requests to our server (api.nepalsangam.com) to fetch the news feed. No user or device identifiers are sent to our server.
Push notifications
The app can send push notifications (at most one daily top story) using Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. The app subscribes to a general topic. For delivery, Google's Firebase creates an installation ID and messaging token on your device and processes them under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy and firebase.google.com/support/privacy). We do not receive or store these tokens. You can turn off the daily notification in the app's settings or in Android settings.
Meta (Facebook) SDK – install and ad measurement
The app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK (facebook-core) with automatic app events. It sends app install and app open/activation events, together with device information and the Android advertising ID, to Meta Platforms. This is used to measure app installs and the performance of our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta processes this data under its own privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads).
Data stored on your device
Only the following is stored, and only on your device: your notification on/off setting, whether the notification permission was asked, and a small cache of recent feed cards. Uninstalling the app removes these.
Publisher websites
Tapping a story opens the publisher's own web page in an in-app browser (WebView), with an option to open it in your external browser. These sites are third parties with their own privacy policies and may set cookies. The app does not read or collect them.
Server logs
Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operation. These logs are kept for a limited time.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.
App permissions
- Internet and network state – to fetch the news feed and open stories.
- Notifications – to show the optional daily top story.
- Wake lock / FCM receive – for message delivery through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID) – used by the Meta SDK to measure installs and ad performance.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's data.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell personal data. We share data only as described above: with Meta for install and ad measurement, and with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for notification delivery.
Your choices and deletion
Our own server stores no personal data, so there is nothing tied to you for us to delete. Data sent to Meta is handled under Meta's privacy policy, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings as described above. You can contact us with any questions or requests.

Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

नेपाल संगम न्युज ("हामी") नेपाली समाचार संकलन गर्ने एप हो। यसले नेपाली समाचार साइटहरूका शीर्षकहरू देखाउँछ र प्रकाशकको आफ्नै पेज खोल्छ। यो नीतिले एपले कुन डाटा कसरी प्रयोग गर्छ भन्ने बताउँछ।

बिक्री र साझेदारी
हामी व्यक्तिगत डाटा बेच्दैनौं। माथि उल्लेख गरिए अनुसार मात्र डाटा साझा हुन्छ: इन्स्टल र विज्ञापन मापनका लागि Meta सँग, र सूचना पुर्याउन Google Firebase Cloud Messaging सँग।
